For a simple, basic spud gun, the materials that you need are as follows:

- 3 to 4 feet of 4'' ABS piping

- 4 to 6 feet of 1.5 t 2 inch ABS piping

- Cleanout cap adapter with cleanout cap

- 4-1.5 or 4-2 inch reducer (depending on the barrel that you are using)

- B.B.Q lighter or any other source of spark

- ABS primer

- ABS glue

You will also need a few common tools:

- Drill with a drill bit bit enough to make a snug fit for the B.B.Q lighter

- Something that can be used to make the entrance to the barrel sharp enough to cut the potato
